A 1658 great house and its rum

About St Nicholas Abbey

Built in 1658, St Nicholas Abbey is one of only three Jacobean great houses left in the Western Hemisphere. Restored as a working plantation and heritage attraction, it makes its own single-cask rums, and the tour takes in the great house, the gardens, a small museum, the factory and distillery, a short film from around 1930 and a rum tasting. On select days you can book the private Rum Experience Tour with the owner, Larry Warren, and the St Nicholas Abbey Heritage Railway runs heritage trains on the estate.
