About Holetown and the Platinum West Coast: the back story

Holetown is where, in 1625, the ship Olive Blossom made its first landing and claimed the island for England, and the Holetown Monument marks the claim and the first settlement of 1627. Today it is the centre of the Platinum Coast of St. James: villas and small luxury hotels along calm Caribbean beaches, the restaurants and bars of 1st and 2nd Street, the Chattel Village and Limegrove’s designer boutiques, with Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Apes Hill close by.
